چکیده
This paper addresses the issues of slug detection and characterization in air-water two-phase flow a vertical pipeline. A novel non-invasive measurement technique using continuous-wave Doppler ultrasound (CWDU) bandpass power spectral density (BPSD) is proposed for multiphase applications compared with more established gamma-ray densitometry measurement. In this work, analysis time-frequency CWDU performed to infer applicability BPSD method observing front trailing bubbles flow. The used piezo transmitter/receiver pair an ultrasonic frequency 500 kHz. Signal processing on demodulated signal was done Butterworth filter which reveals slugs from background bubbles. experiments were carried out 2” pipeline-riser at process system engineering laboratory Cranfield University. 2-inch test facility experiment made up 54.8 mm internal diameter 10.5 m high riser connected 40 long horizontal Taylor generated quick-closing air valve placed bottom underwater flow, rates 0.5 litres/s, 2 4 litres/s. spectrum measured along shown describe distinctive nature slugs.

Imaging the carotid bifurcation using continuous-wave Doppler-shift ultrasound and spectral analysis.
A non-invasive method is described for visualizing the carotid bifurcation using a continuous-wave Doppler-shift technique simultaneously with spectral analysis of the blood velocities from all parts of the vessel lumen. The system is directional so that arteries can be visualized in the presence of signals from adjacent veins. The technique uses a transducer which is attached to a position-sen...

Evaluation of aortic stenosis by continuous wave Doppler ultrasound.
Twenty-four patients with suspected aortic stenosis (Group I) were evaluated noninvasively by continuous wave Doppler ultrasound before undergoing cardiac catheterization. Twenty normal subjects served as the control group (Group II). Maximal velocity measurements in the ascending aorta ranged from 3.0 to 5.8 m/s (mean 4.34 +/- 0.65) in Group I versus 1.0 to 1.6 m/s (mean 1.28 +/- 0.16) in Grou...
متن کاملContinuous wave Doppler ultrasound in evaluation of cerebral blood flow in neonates.
The cerebral circulation of 25 normal term infants was investigated using continuous wave Doppler ultrasound. Serial blood flow velocity signals were obtained from the common carotid and anterior cerebral arteries during the first week of life. The records were processed using a frequency spectrum analyser to provide cerebral blood velocity waveforms. The pulsatility index (PI), A/B ratio, and ...
متن کاملCorrelation of continuous-wave Doppler spectral flow analysis with gross pathology in carotid stenosis.
Preoperative continuous-wave Doppler spectral analysis was used to generate two parameters, peak frequency in the internal carotid artery (fmax) and the ratio of peak frequencies in the internal and common carotid arteries (carotid index). These were compared with direct measurement of residual lumen diameter in pathologic specimens obtained from carotid endarterectomy in 37 patients. Doppler s...
